So... You Booked A Boudoir Session
If you’re here, chances are you’re feeling a mix of excitement… and nerves.
First, let me just say this… that is completely normal.
Boudoir can feel intimidating. You’re stepping outside your comfort zone and allowing yourself to be seen in a way most of us aren’t used to. We spend so much time picking ourselves apart that doing something like this can feel huge.
I’ve been doing this for almost five years now, and I’ve worked with all kinds of women, all different body types, all different stories. Stretch marks, weight changes, scars… none of that disqualifies you from this experience.
If anything, it’s part of what makes it yours. You don’t need to change anything about yourself before stepping in front of my camera. You just need to show up.
I've got the rest.
✨ What To Wear
Boudoir doesn’t have a dress code. I’ve photographed women in lingerie, oversized tees, robes, sweaters, jeans… and sometimes nothing at all.
What matters most is that you feel good in it.
I always recommend trying outfits on ahead of time. If something feels awkward, too tight, or just not like you, skip it. Lace, satin, and solid colors photograph beautifully, and you’re always welcome to bring layers like robes, jackets, or even your partner’s shirt for a softer or more playful vibe. Avoid anything too tight that digs in or too loose that hides your shape. The goal is to flatter you, not fight with your outfit.
For my sessions, The Bare Essentials includes a max of two outfits and The Bare All includes up to three outfit changes so we can spend more time shooting and less time changing. And honestly… one of my favorite things is when you walk in already feeling yourself a little bit. That energy sets the tone for everything.
✨ What NOT to Do Before Your Session
A few quick things to keep in mind before your session so everything goes as smoothly as possible:
If you plan on shaving, try not to do it right before your session. Give yourself about 24 hours to avoid irritation or razor burn. Same goes for waxing or anything that might irritate your skin.
Avoid spray tans within 24 hours of your session. They can transfer, look uneven on camera, and even stain studio furniture, which we definitely don’t want.
Try your outfits on beforehand so you feel prepared and confident. You want to walk in feeling ready, not stressed.
Be mindful of anything that can leave marks on your skin. Tight bras, underwear, ponytails, watches, or tight jeans can all leave indentations that show up in photos. If you can, wear something loose like sweats to your session.
And when it comes to hair and makeup, just be you. If you’re more natural and low key, that’s perfect. If you love getting glammed up, I’m here for that too. There’s no right or wrong, the goal is that you still feel like yourself.
I’m not here to turn you into someone else. I’m here to highlight the version of you that already exists.

✨ Comfort + Privacy
Your comfort is my top priority, always.
If bringing someone with you would help you feel more at ease, you are absolutely welcome to. Some people prefer to come alone, others like having a support person there. Either is completely fine. I just ask that they stay behind me during the session so they’re not in the shot.
Before your session, I send out a questionnaire to get a feel for your comfort level. Things like how much skin you’re comfortable showing, if there’s anything you’d rather keep covered, or areas you really want to highlight. This helps me tailor your session to you from the start.
During your session, you are always in control. If there’s ever a pose you don’t like or something doesn’t feel like you, you can say that. No questions, no pressure, we just move on. This is your session, not mine.
If I ever need to adjust something like your hair, a strap, or anything small, I will always ask or let you know before I do. I’m very mindful of personal space and want you to feel completely comfortable the entire time.
After your gallery is delivered, you’ll also receive a privacy release form. There are multiple options ranging from keeping your photos completely private to allowing full sharing, with in-between options like approving images first or keeping your face out of anything posted.
I fully understand how personal these photos are. A lot of my clients are brides creating something special for their partner, and there is absolutely no pressure to have your images shared anywhere.
At the end of the day, this experience is about you feeling safe, respected, and confident the entire way through.
✨ After Your Session
Your full gallery will be delivered within 4 weeks of your session date. Sometimes it’s sooner, but never later. I do send a few sneak peeks shortly after your session so you have something to hold you over while I finish the rest. Your photos are delivered through a private online gallery sent to your email. From there, you’ll be able to view, download, and share your images if you choose.
You’ll also have access to my storefront where you can create a custom album using your favorite images, or purchase digital prints, and canvases. It’s a really beautiful way to turn your session into something tangible that you can keep or gift to a special someone.
After you’ve received and viewed your gallery, I’ll send over your privacy release form. This gives you full control over if and how your images are shared. Nothing is ever posted without your permission.

✨ Final Thoughts

I just want you to know… you’re in good hands.
You are beautiful exactly as you are right now.
My goal is simply to help you see yourself the way the people who love you already do.
And for my brides… I hope I can give you a glimpse of what your partner sees when they look at you.
Beautiful.
